We are hiring qualified teachers and assistants to teach an after-school theatre program in local schools. The teacher will lead students in creating a small theatre production using scripts and lesson plans provided. Each class session will run for 12 weeks each semester during this school year.

Qualifications:
Teachers: Experience directing and/or teaching school aged children or working towards degree in education, theatre arts or related field.
Assistants: Minimum age 13 years. Experience or interest in teaching, babysitting, or theatre arts. Must be responsible and willing to learn.
Teacher Responsibilities and Duties:
Teach 12 classes culminating in a small performance using curriculum and script provided.
Be punctual and present for all assigned classes.
Use time wisely and actively instruct students in their growth process.
Communicate effectively to parents and building staff in a professional and positive manner.
Maintain show budget.
Maintain safety of students as is necessary and in a reasonable manner.
Ensure that the rental space is clean and maintained.
Work as an effective team member with other faculty and staff.
Assistant Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist the teacher in teaching 12 classes culminating in a small performance.
Be punctual and present for all assigned classes.
Use time wisely and follow the teacher’s directions regarding student instruction.
Communicate effectively to parents and the teacher in a professional and positive manner.
Maintain safety of students as is necessary and in a reasonable manner as instructed by the teacher.
Ensure that the rental space is clean and maintained.
Work as an effective team member with other faculty and staff.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands- Effective verbal and written communication, concentration while performing duties, ability to maintain emotional control under stress, ability to work with frequent interruptions
Physical Demands- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, lifting, moving equipment and other materials
Terms: 12 classes (1.5 hours each)- 18 hours total not including travel or planning time
Class Size: 15 students. (Minimum 10 students. Maximum 20 students)
Shift Type: Contract - stipend
Salary: Teacher- $900 (bonus of additional $200 at 20 students)-Average of $50 per hour.
Assistant- $150- Average of $8.33 per hour.
