Adult Shows at Upstage Arts
UPSTAGE ARTS is excited to announce the auditions for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! Auditions will be held Monday, August 1 from 7p to 10p. Ages 18+
Performance Dates: Weekend September 15 through 18th. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
Rehearsals will begin the week after auditions and are Monday through Friday from 7pm to 10pm. Occasionally, weekend rehearsals or set constructions are required. A rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions.
Auditions will be held at Upstage Arts, 100 E. Nasa Road 1, suite 78, webster, 77598. Please arrive as close to 7pm as possible. directed by theatre staff.

If you would like to get involved but don't want to be on-stage? UPSTAGE is always looking for people to help BACKSTAGE during production (as stage managers, crew, light or sound techs, prop-masters, etc.). Sound interesting? Come to auditions and talk to theatre staff.

The performance is directed by Marc Anthony Glover and will be Music Directed by Mike Tuneberg.
Anyone of any race/ethnic origin/age is invited to audition.
A head shot and resume would be greatly appreciated.
Prepare to sing a song of your choice with an accompaniment track. (On usb drive or CD, accompaniment will not be provided). Songs should be from musical theatre, Sondheim is preferred, but pop songs are okay too. Choose a song that showcases the range of the role you are auditioning for. Songs from the show are NOT ALLOWED.
Once cast, each member is asked to pay a production fee of $150.
Please come with a planner to CONFIRM availability on all the dates listed above. While ALL actors may not be called for every rehearsal, we would like to have a clear idea of who can rehearse when.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Sondheim’s rare, musical thriller is a chilling, suspenseful, and at times humorous telling of the infamous tale of the murderous barber of Fleet Street in London. Sweeney Todd, the unjustly exiled barber, returns to London seeking revenge. His thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers. And he is helped along his murderous way by the opportunistic pie-shop owner downstairs.
